The Center for Jewish Studies – Rio de Janeiro Federal University – is an initiative dedicated to teaching and researching in the field of Jewish studies, from different perspectives. In conjunction with the Department of History at UFRJ, it offers a laboratory, associated mainly, but not exclusively, to the area of the modern and contemporary history, and the Brazilian history. NIEJ is formed by university professors who teach and research in the areas of history, social sciences, philosophy and literature. It has an International Board composed by key experts in the field of Jewish studies in Brazil and abroad.
